We buy because we get worried. We sell because we get worried. We do everything because we get worried.
You may have seen an ad before that says 50% off sale, buy before it’s gone and we do buy it. Did we need it probably no, was it a wast of money-yes. Scarcity is not usually the problem you are! We tend to blame things on the big corporations because we are lazy. They became big because they were not lazy.
Scarcity is scary
I’m not overstating that it is scary. When what you have been saving suddenly goes on a “once in a lifetime savings sale” you go for it. When you miss it you get a pit in your stomach.
There’s only so much of everything
We are taught that when we buy something someone else who wanted that does not get it. When in fact there’s plenty to go around (In most cases) when a company runs out of something very quickly they don’t quit making it, they make more.
Taking time makes money
When seeing something you have not been saving up for don’t buy it. Research it takes your time most likely in a day or two you will want something else. That extra time of looking into a product will save you hundreds to thousands of dollars
If you are grateful for what you have you will not want or think you need as much. Use your money to make you more money, you still should set aside blow money.
Time is money
Another thing you may not think about is time. Time is money spend time wisely and your money will be used wiser. I talk about it in detail in “Time… Is it free?” and “Three Things I Can Change to Use Time Better“
Next time you readily want to buy something just relax and ask yourself do you really need it, 95% of the time you will not. A great book you may consider buying is “Killing Sacred Cows“. It will destroy common myths that trap us all. Lastly, don’t forget to comment on what you want me to write about next!
